Over the course of the summer, I had the opportunity to implement a number of methods for automatic differentiation inside of the Pumas software to speed up some of the machine learning techniques they offer. The time I spent learning about the inner workings and the practical implications of the toolkit that Pumas-AI is developing, while being mentored by some of the brightest minds in the field, was an extremely valuable. I hope to take all I have learned this past summer forward into the rest of my career.
